The Home Improvement Ministry at the Church of Saint Mary is a community-focused service group dedicated to helping those in need within our congregation. This ministry provides home repair assistance to individuals and families who are unable to perform necessary maintenance or repairs themselves due to physical limitations, financial hardship, or other challenges. Whether it’s a broken door, a leaking roof, or simply ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment, the Home Improvement Ministry offers hands-on support to help restore homes and ease burdens for our fellow parishioners.
Who We Serve
This ministry is available to all members of the Church of Saint Mary community, prioritizing those who may be elderly, disabled, single parents, or facing financial difficulty. We also serve individuals who may be experiencing temporary hardship or health issues that prevent them from maintaining their homes. We are certain weekends throughout the year for Home Improvement Ministry days, but we also help on an emergency basis.
We understand that a home is more than just a shelter; it’s a place of peace and security. Our goal is to ensure that every individual and family feels safe and comfortable in their living space, no matter their circumstances.
How to Request Help
If you or someone you know is in need of home repair assistance, please reach out to the ministry coordinator at the Church of Saint Mary. You can request help by clicking this link: https://forms.gle/xLuYYhfjKun9caaQ6
This form can be filled out to ask for help for the Home Improvement Ministry Days and also for emergency situations.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Home Improvement Ministry is a volunteer-driven effort, and we rely on the generous support of church members with skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general home maintenance. No matter your experience level, there’s a place for you to serve!
Volunteers typically work in teams, and the ministry offers a supportive environment where you can share your time and talents for the good of others. Even if you don’t have technical skills, we’d love for you to come help out.
To volunteer, please fill out the appropriate forms on our Resources and email Sharron Hanisch at [email protected]
