Faith & Works: the 2019 Annual Appeal

St. Paul exhorted the Corinthians to “be firm, steadfast, always fully devoted to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” He had just reminded them that Jesus Christ had redeemed them from sin, death, and hell by the power of His death and resurrection. Because they belonged to Jesus Christ, they would be raised incorruptible and immortal.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ had changed everything they had ever known about sin and death.

Because they now belonged to Jesus through Baptism, they were His co-laborers in His Kingdom to build the Church, and the same is true for us.
