Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest for 8th Graders

Open to all 8th graders from the School and Church of Saint Mary School

 

To promote religious and life affirming values combined with patriotism, the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring an essay contest open to all 8th grade students of the school and parish.

 

What Are the Values of a Catholic Patriot?

 

In an original essay of 500-700 words, answer the question above.

Essays will be judged based on clarity of the writing, quality of the thinking reflected, and the extent to which the question is answered.  The winning essay will be awarded a $200 education stipend.

Entries should be submitted to the school office in a sealed envelope addressed to Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest.   All entries must be typed, double-spaced and include student’s name and a parent or guardian name and phone number.  Entries must be in the school office by 3:30 pm, Thursday, February 28, 2019. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.  No emailed entries will be eligible.
